Popular Wedding Themes

Its no secret that weddings are very happy occasions. They are very personal to plan, therefore resulting in an endless amount of themes to choose from. With so many options available, we thought it would be a good idea to narrow down the list and present some of our favorites.

1. Beach

Very popular in the summertime, the beach theme offers a refreshing style that people love. This style generally works well with bright colors and tropical food and drinks. Having it actually be at the beach also offers an amazing sunset background for the ceremony and photo opportunities. Seashells are a great suggestion for decorations as well.

2. Picnic

This theme is a great option that is both affordable and adorable. Plaid designs on the tablecloths and picnic basket centerpieces are all popular picks. If your caterer is flexible, ask them to prepare the guests’ lunches in individual bags or containers. The names of each guest can be written on their package to offer the personal picnic touch.

3. Retro

Retro weddings are incredibly fun to plan and will be loved by young and old generations alike. Vintage stores and thrift shops will be great places to start looking for supplies. Be sure to keep the retro aesthetic in all aspects of the wedding, such as the invitations and centerpieces. Look into retro fashion to find the look that suits your style best.

4. Worldly

Adventurous couples love this theme. The whole idea is to appear well-traveled: maps, globes, travel tickets, and so many other items can be used for decorations. When sending out invitations, include any extra information the guests may need to know (for instance, including the menu is a good idea because an international theme has a vast array of options available).

5. Rock n’ Roll

This theme is quite popular with couples who love and value music. Rock n’ roll is a broad genre and it can be adapted to suit the personality of the couple. From glam rock to punk rock and classic rock, there are tons of styles that can be used to make a successful wedding. Darker colors are popular with this theme, groomsmen may also consider wearing converse instead of dress shoes.

6. Cherry Blossoms

Cherry blossoms are beautiful and popular, why not build a wedding around this theme? Pink and red will be the prevalent color for decorations, also be sure to include plenty of flowers to strengthen the theme even further. If you are looking to have even more of a Japanese feel to the wedding, consider including paper lanterns and many candles.

Creative Ideas to Turn Your Open Space into Your Dream Event

If your job is to party plan, you often have to have a creative mind. You have to see any venue as a blank canvas that you can shape into something incredible. It does not matter if the party is in a garden, a ballroom, or a warehouse, you have a vision that transforms the room into your clients dream. But what if you do not have the most creative mind? How do you take an aesthetically plain space and make it visually incredible? Here are some suggestions and ideas on how you can save money to create something truly amazing!

Aesthetically Plain Rooms are Cheaper

These rooms for rent are very bland and may not be in the most luxurious locations, but it could save you hundreds of dollars. Not only will you save money, but these are the best rooms to let your imagination run wild. View an open, plain space as a room that you can do anything in. This allows you the option to decorate it any way you want, any color, different layouts, and much more! Here are some ways to dress up a plain room on a budget.

1. Ceiling Decorations: There a lot of things you can decorate a ceiling with and that can truly transform a dull looking event, into something elegant. Take this photo for example, A carefully draped thin cloth, attached to Christmas lights, dangling from the center of the room, softly lighting your party from above. Doesn’t that look and sound elegant? This is just one decoration possibility you could use for your event, and that’s the benefits of having a plain open room. It allows you to create something great from absolutely nothing.

2. Use a Theme: We all know how cliché theme parties are, but considering to use a theme as a guideline rather than the whole party, could make things a lot easier for your client to come up with ideas for their event. A themed party, can give you or your client a platform to use, by the colors you want use, decoration ideas, or type of food being served. For example, Disney themes are really popular for weddings or parties. Instead of buying a Snow White dress, infuse special props or moments form the movie to make it noticeable, but won’t take over the whole design. Here is a table piece from a Disney movie. Can you guess which one?

3. Table pieces: Sometimes all you need to tie a whole room together is an outstanding centerpiece. Most opt for a large assortment of fresh flowers, but this can prove to be very pricy. There are so many other options to create an eye catching piece that you could do yourself. Some examples include, cheap vintage lamps that are spray painted to match your color palette or different sized candles grouped together to create a flickering glow. My favorite idea is to take a cylinder, glass vase and throw a beautiful fake flower inside. Then fill it up with water and place candles around it. Here’s a photo for reference.

All of these tips come at a low cost and are things that you can do yourself. Follow these guidelines and your next party will be a dream event.

Tips to Help You Enjoy Your Event

Planning and prepping for any event can be stressful and time consuming. When the day finally comes, you want to be able to enjoy the day along with everyone else. Whether it be your wedding, birthday, or any other event you want to share with others, it is easy to get caught up in trying to make the day perfect that we forget to enjoy it.

- Planning -
When you give yourself enough time to plan and take care of all the details it gives you less to worry about when the day finally comes. When possible, do things that can be done ahead of time. Example, when catering your own event, prepare all the food and dishes that will be used to serve the food.

- Imagine your party like a guest -
When planning and hosting a party, we tend to get carried away trying to make sure everything is perfect. While we would always love to have everything perfect, we sometimes do not have the time. When you think of yourself as a guest it helps avoid giving yourself extra work. When you are a guest at a party, you probably do not notice or inspect every corner for dust. Instead, focus on what guests will notice; the music in the background, an inviting look with some space to sit.

- Let others help -
Delegate tasks to those that offer help. You probably can do everything yourself, but it will be more enjoyable if you don’t.

- Relax -
If possible, take 5 minutes before everyone starts arriving to relax. This will help the transition from work and prepping to enjoying and having fun creating memories.

Finally, ENJOY!! The best part about parties is not the food, drinks, entertainment or decorations but the people we spend the time with. Guests will enjoy the party more if they see you enjoying it as well. The best thing to help you relax and enjoy is to keep in mind is that you prepared as much as could.
